Opting Out
404 Media recently reported on Udemy providing an "opt-out window" for content creators having their content being used to train an AI model. The argument made is that they would need to retrain their models to remove your content if you opted out at a later date. It's pretty mind blowing in that I can't think of an other example of an opt-out window, but puts into context every other opt-in/out for training AI models on "your" data. Are others constantly training their data? That sounds prohibitively expensive.
It's old news now, but LinkedIn recently opted everyone in to having their data used for training AI data by default without updating their terms of service or letting anyone know they'd done it. 404 Media give a good breakdown in a recent podcast.
