Shaving

So shaving. I hate shaving. I'm a bearded man and that is directly related to just how boring I find shaving.

But I work in advertising now. So it's time I started to take at least a little bit of care in my appearance so I've started shaving again (once a week). A while ago a mate send me this like which got me interested in 'the wet shave'. Or just shaving with a safety razor more generally.

I'm loving it. It's ritualistic which is a nice antidote to the bordem of shaving and it's the closest shave I've ever had.

At the moment I'm just using a synthetic brush which is doing the job fine, but that's another great thing about it. There's plenty of opportunity to buy heaps of kit - I've already put in a request for a badger hair brush for my birthday from my sister.

It's also not too much slower than regular shaving now that I've got the hang of it and blades are super cheap (about $3 for 10 and each blade lasts 3 or 4 shaves easily).

I highly recommend it. Shaving is actually pleasurable for me for the first time in 20 years.
